NOB-Hyderabad news: The process for municipal elections in Telangana state has begun. The State Election Commission (TSEC) on 29.12.2025 issued an official notification for the preparation and publication of voter lists for the 117 municipalities and 6 municipal corporations in the state.
Ward-wise voter distribution:
The Election Commission has directed officials to prepare ward-wise voter lists with photographs for the municipalities, based on the Assembly constituency voter lists (data as of 01.10.2025.
Here is the schedule for the preparation of the voter’s list:
- ECI data of polling stations organized municipality-wise: 30.12.2025
- Division of polling station data ward-wise: 31.12.2025
- Preparation of voter’s list ward-wise for municipalities: 31.12.2025
- Publication of (Draft) Voter’s List (Receiving objections): 01.01.2026
- Meeting with representatives of political parties (ULB/District level): 05.01.2026 – 06.01.2026
- Publication of Final Voter’s List: 10.01.2026
The draft voter’s list will be published on 01.01.2026. Any objections or corrections to this list can be submitted through notice boards. After all corrections, the final list will be released on 10.01.2026. The upcoming municipal elections will be conducted based on this list.
