Recently a new pink scam is spreading on WhatsApp. The government and police departments of Mumbai, Kerala, Karnataka and other states have issued warnings about this scam. “WhatsApp Pink – Red Alert for Android Users,” warned a tweet from the Northern Region’s Cyber Police Crime Wing. Government cyber security agencies have also issued an advisory against the growing number of pink WhatsApp scam cases.

Cybercriminals are sending messages to download the new pink color WhatsApp to get more features in WhatsApp. Just click on the link sent by them and WhatsApp will download. Then all the numbers in the phone will go to hackers without our knowledge. Moreover, the link to download Pink WhatsApp will be sent to all friends with our name. Besides, details like financial details, bank account, OTP also get into the hands of hackers. A malicious software gets installed without the user’s knowledge. By this the user will lose the mobile access completely. Cyber police warn to be very careful about this. If you are already using pink WhatsApp, delete it immediately and back up your phone.
