NOB-Kamareddy news: In particular, this vicious cycle of “weekly interest” is sucking the very lifeblood out of the common man. By extorting interest amounts that often exceed the principal loan itself sometimes before even a single week has passed these lenders are shattering the lives of innocent people. Acting on precise intelligence, the Kamareddy Town Police recently successfully apprehended this predatory gang. Lurking near banks, this gang engages in fraudulent activities by targeting auto drivers, farmers, and impoverished individuals who are in urgent need of loans. They lure victims with promises of lending money, only to collect cash upfront under the guise of interest payments. The police have seized hundreds of promissory notes, blank checks, documents bearing fingerprints, and gold as well as an unregistered vehicle used by the gang from this syndicate, which has established a foothold not only in Kamareddy but also in regions of Andhra Pradesh such as West Godavari and Rajahmundry. Specifically, accused individuals like Sathi Sairam and Thalari Raju were playing with the victim’s lives by threatening them to repay the principal amount along with interest on a weekly basis, in response, the police executed a meticulously planned raid and put them behind bars. Indeed, yesterday’s police action proved the adage that “injustice cannot prevail forever.” The police brought an end to the accused’s criminal spree after a victim courageously stepped forward and lodged a complaint with the Kamareddy police. In addition to registering a case against the accused, arresting them, and sending them to jail, the police recovered hundreds of promissory notes, checks, cash, gold, and the vehicle that the gang had held as collateral. The police issued a stern warning that the law spares no one. This incident clearly demonstrates that if victims overcome their fear and approach the police, it is indeed possible to rid society of the menace posed by such lawless elements.
