There are clear instructions from the government to eradicate drugs from society, everyone should work for a drug-free society, he said, and the district police department is working hard for this. We are providing counseling to all those involved in cases like transportation, use and sale of ganja. The SP asked the youth to be vigilant about this and if anyone tries to get addicted, they should provide their information to the police. The information of those involved in the supply, use and transportation of ganja should be given to the police, he said, adding that cases will be registered against such people under the NDPS Act, sheets will be opened and continuous surveillance will be kept. The first accused, Adapa Rakesh, got into the habit of consuming ganja through his friends while studying intermediate. After intermediate, due to their financial conditions, he quit his studies and worked as a tractor driver. In 2023, the Kodad Rural Police caught him with ganja, registered a case and sent him to jail. After coming out of jail, he stopped consuming ganja for a few days. Last 10 days ago, when the Kodad Rural PS went to the Suryapet court to appear for an adjournment in the ganja case, he met a person from the state of Odisha about the adjournment of the court. After learning that he had also come for the adjournment of the ganja case, Adapa Rajesh asked him if he wanted to smoke and sell ganja. He told him to come to the Shiva Mandir temple in Kalimella, Odisha on June 29th 2025. As he said, on 28.06.2025, Rajesh went to the Kalimella Shiva Mandir temple in Odisha at the address he had given. On the morning of 29.06.2025, he met him and took about 11 kg of ganja (6 packets) from him for Rs. 11000/- and to avoid anyone finding him from there, he changed his name travelled in lorries and buses. On 30.06.2025, he came to Dorakunta village and hid such ganja in an empty space behind the Eicher tractor showroom on the outskirts of Dorakunta village, among the bushes of trees, saying that if he kept ganja in his house, his mother would scold him and that the police would catch him. On 02.07.2025, he called and told the second accused, Wanaparthi Sai Kumar, who often bought ganja. On 04.07.2025, in the afternoon, the second accused, Wanaparthi Sai Kumar, came to buy ganja from the first accused. Together, they went to the place where the ganja was hidden. From the ganja, Adapa Rakesh gave approximately (01) kg of ganja to Wanaparthi Sai Kumar. At the same time, the police caught both of them and seized (05) packets of ganja weighing a total of (09) kg (900) grams, a cell phone from the first accused, Adapa Rakesh and (925) grams of ganja and a cell phone from the second accused, Wanaparthi Sai Kumar. A case was registered and they were arrested. The value of this ganja is approximately Rs. 2.80 lakhs. The above-mentioned criminals will be produced in court.

2.Wanaparthi Sai @ Sai Kumar, age 21 years, profession: student (completed internship), residence: Srirangapuram, Kodad town, Suryapet district. (Previous cases not confirmed).
