
NOB-Telangana news: CM Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to give top priority to temples in the Godavari catchment areas and to undertake the construction of permanent ghats in the context of the upcoming Godavari Pushkaram. On 12.09.2025, a review meeting was held with the officials of the Endowment Department on the preparations and advance plans for Godavari Pushkaram at the Integrated Command Control Center in Banjara Hills. Minister Konda Surekha and other high officials participated in this meeting. Speaking on the occasion, CM Revanth Reddy gave key instructions on the arrangements for Godavari Pushkaram on a permanent basis. He wanted to give priority to the development of temple centric ghats. CM Revanth Reddy wanted to take steps to take up the construction of permanent ghats by taking famous temples in the Godavari catchment area as the first priority. CM Revanth Reddy said that temples should be visited at the field level in the Godavari catchment areas from Basara to Bhadrachalam and suitable ones should be selected. He instructed the officials to prepare a complete list in this regard. He said that plans should be prepared to expand the existing ghats within the limits of the respective temples and to undertake work on roads and other facilities on a permanent basis. He suggested that development work should be undertaken so that about 2 lakh people can bathe at the ghats at a time during Pushkaram. Different ghat designs should be prepared for each temple according to local conditions, and the Tourism Department, Irrigation Department and Endowment Department should work in coordination with this issue, CM Revanth Reddy clarified.
