NOB-Andhra Pradesh news:  Rape attempt incident took place in Machilipatnam, Krishna district. A girl from Pumpla Cheruvu Colony is studying in 8th standard and lives locally. However, some youths from the same area have been making a racket for a few days by consuming alcohol and ganja. The ganja batch caught the girl who was going to school every day. The lustful men who followed the girl every day waited for the right time. However, on 28.12.2024 two ganja batches who noticed the girl walking alone abducted the girl. They tied the girl’s legs and hands with ropes and took her to a deserted area behind the Pumpla Cheruvu. Later, they attempted to rape her. However, when the girl screamed loudly, family members, relatives and local youth became alert. They ran to the area where she was screaming. Seeing the locals coming, both the accused tried to escape, leaving the girl behind. All those who were chasing caught one. Another person escaped without being caught by the locals. Police reached the spot on the information of the victim’s family. The accused was arrested. A case was registered and investigation was initiated. A massive search was launched for another person who had fled and he was arrested. However, the girl’s relatives and locals allege that the people who committed the rape attempt consumed marijuana. They say that they are making a ruckus in the locality every day while consuming marijuana and are terrorizing the people. They demand that such people be severely punished and strict action be taken against the marijuana batch.
