NOB_Nizamabad: In a sensational case of alleged revenge killing, Chittari Haribabu (26), the prime accused in the murder of YouTuber Vaishnavi, was brutally hacked to death in broad daylight at Rajarajendra Chowrasta in Nizamabad on Thursday.
Police said three unidentified men came in a car and attacked Haribabu with sharp-edged weapons while he was drinking water at a shop near the chowrasta. He sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot. The assailants fled the scene in the car.
Second Town police reached the spot, examined the body and shifted it to the Government General Hospital morgue for postmortem. CCTV footage from the area is being examined.
Haribabu was arrested in March 2026 for allegedly stabbing his wife, Vaishnavi (20), a YouTuber known for her channel ‘Vaishu Amma’, to death. Vaishnavi was four months pregnant at the time. Her father had alleged that Haribabu harassed her for additional dowry.
Haribabu was in jail for a few months and had recently come out on bail. He was reportedly selling corn and living with his mother.
Police are investigating whether the murder was carried out in retaliation for Vaishnavi’s murder. A manhunt has been launched for the three accused.
