
NOB-Medaram news: The NPDCL management has taken all necessary measures to ensure that devotees do not face any difficulties regarding electricity in Medaram, transforming it into a dazzling spectacle of lights. Officials and operation and maintenance staff are working round the clock in Medaram, which has been illuminated with brilliant lights. Under the supervision of two directors, T. Madhusudan and V. Mohan Rao, and Chief Engineers K. Raju Chauhan and Ashok, four Superintending Engineers, seven Divisional Engineers, 30 Assistant Divisional Engineers, Assistant Engineers, and 150 Sub-Engineers are on duty. 500 operation and maintenance employees are working in three batches of 30 each. The staff conducts line patrolling in their assigned areas, identifying and rectifying faults. Working tirelessly day and night, they are ensuring that devotees do not face any problems with electricity.
Key event of the Jathara unfolds

Ministers Seethakka, Adluri Lakshman, and District Collector Divakara TS perform special prayers in Kannepalli. The most crucial event of the Medaram Sammakka-Sarlamma Maha Jathara, renowned as the Kumbh Mela of Telangana, unfolded on 28.01.2026 in an atmosphere of religious fervor. This moment, eagerly awaited by millions of devotees, began in the evening of 28.01.2026, with Goddess Sarlamma being enthroned on the platform from Kannepalli, marking the first major event of the Jathara. Before this event, the priests and the district administration reached the Kannepalli temple and performed special prayers to the Goddess. The priests of the Sammakka deities went to the house of the Siddaboyina family and performed traditional rituals, while the deity Govindarajulu was brought from Kondai village to Kannepalli. Subsequently, the chief priest of Sarlamma, Kaka Sarayya, along with priests Kaka Venkateshwarlu, Kaka Kiran Kumar, Kaka Kanakamma, Kaka Bhujanga Rao, and Kaka Lakshmibai, and the priest of Govindarajulu, Dubbakattla Govardhan, performed special prayers according to tribal customs. After performing puja ceremonies at the Kannepalli Sarlamma temple for about two hours, Goddess Sarlamma departed from Kannepalli at approximately 7 PM. Upon reaching Medaram village via the Jampanna stream, devotees, overcome with religious fervor and ecstasy, gave a grand welcome to Goddess Saralamma along the way, amidst the sounds of traditional drums. With this event, the Medaram area was enveloped in an atmosphere of spiritual devotion. At 12:30 AM, special prayers were offered to Goddess Saralamma upon her arrival at the platform area. Later, along with Govindarajulu and Pagididdaraju, the Goddess ascended the platform at midnight. The chief priest, Sarayya, brought the Goddess to the platform and installed her there. Before this event, the State Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka), and the District Collector, T.S. Diwakar, offered special prayers to Sri Saralamma. Later, they participated in traditional tribal dances with the villagers of Kannepalli, further enhancing the spiritual atmosphere of the festival. With this, the first crucial stage of the Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma Maha Jatara was successfully completed, and Goddess Saralamma, the benevolent mother, is now seated on the platform, bestowing blessings upon the devotees. The devotees are now eagerly awaiting the subsequent stages of the festival.
