NOB- Suryapet news: One case has been registered against the accused at Suryapet town PS and two at Suryapet rural police station. Another 30 theft cases are under the jurisdiction of Hyderabad, Rachakonda and Cyberabad police commissionerates. A person named Seelanchetty Venkataramana from Jangaon district, who was targeting locked houses and committing thefts by breaking the locks, was arrested. Additional SP Nageswara Rao disclosed the details of the case at a press conference held at the district police office. On the morning of 5/12/2024, a 52-year-old man named Seelamshetty Venkataramana from Jangaon district, who was roaming suspiciously at the new bus stand in the Suryapet district center, was taken into custody by the Suryapet town CI along with his staff. After checking and interrogating him, it was found that he had committed many thefts and had gone to jail in many cases. In the years 2021 and 2022, he had committed 2 thefts in Suryapet town and one theft in Suryapet rural area. As part of the investigation, the accused confessed to having committed thefts at the new bus stand and Hi-Tech Colony in the district center and stolen gold. A complaint was filed at Suryapet Police Station on October 28, 2022 by a person named Bobbala Ramulu of Hi-Tech Colony. A theft case was registered under this complaint 388/2022 and an investigation was conducted. The accused was arrested in this case. We found that the arrested accused had history sheets in Vijayawada. He was remanded on 05.12.2024. Suryapet Town Police seized 19 tolas gold ornaments worth 15.20 lakhs from the accused and remanded him. Suryapet Sub-Division DSP Ravi, who supervised the investigation of the case, congratulated Inspector Rajasekhar, Inspector Veeraraghavulu, SI Edukondalu, and technical team staff Karnakar, Krishna, Saidulu, Shiva, and Madhu, District Police Information Technology Center staff Sudhakar, Ravi, and police station staff and presented rewards to SP Sunpreet Singh IPS, who worked well in solving the case, said the Additional SP.
