RSD-Vemulawada news: A major tragedy was narrowly averted in Vemulawada town on Tuesday when a car carrying devotees rammed into an electricity transformer near the Indian Gas Godown. According to reports, the devotees were returning to Hyderabad after offering prayers at the Kondagattu Anjanna Temple when the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the transformer at high speed. The impact was so severe that a part of the transformer collapsed on the spot. As the accident occurred right next to a gas godown, locals feared a major fire mishap, but a bigger disaster was averted. The car’s airbags deployed instantly at the time of the collision, saving the lives of the occupants. The passengers escaped with minor injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Upon receiving information, traffic police rushed to the spot, cleared the traffic congestion and have launched an investigation into the incident.
