NOB_TTD takes big steps to protect Tirumala environment

NOB-Tirupati news: Keeping in mind the sanctity of Tirumala and environmental protection, TTD Additional EO CH. Venkaiah Chowdhury said that TTD has taken extensive steps to replace old diesel and petrol vehicles with electric vehicles. A review meeting was held with senior consultant representatives of the Union Ministry of Highways (Delhi), RTC and TTD officials at the Padmavati Rest House in Tirupati on 28.11.2025. Speaking on the occasion, the Additional EO said that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, several steps have already been taken to make Tirumala a completely pollution-free pilgrimage site. First, they said that they are planning to introduce full-scale electric buses between Tirupati and Tirumala. Similarly, they said that taxis and other hired vehicles running in Tirumala will be replaced with electric vehicles in a phased manner. On this occasion, Senior Consultant from Delhi, Kunal Joshi, gave a power point presentation on various issues. He directed the concerned officials to submit a full report on this. He said that the issue will be discussed in the upcoming TTD board meeting and appropriate decisions will be taken. TTD DFO Phani Kumar Naidu, VGO Surendra, IT Deputy General Manager Venkateshwarlu Naidu, State Transport Department officials, RTC officials and police officials participated in the meeting.
