NOB- Moinabad news: Property disputes have claimed a precious life. In a shocking incident that has caused a stir in Moinabad mandal of Ranga Reddy district, a brother, who should have protected his sister like the apple of his eye, mercilessly hacked her to death with a knife. Swapna, a resident of Kethireddypalli village, worked as a lawyer at the Chevella court. For some time, she and her brother had been involved in disputes over property. On 04.02.2026, while a property settlement discussion was taking place at their field, an argument escalated between the two. The enraged brother attacked Swapna with a knife he had brought with him, striking her on the neck. Due to severe bleeding, she died on the spot. Upon receiving information from the locals, Moinabad police immediately reached the scene. They took the body into custody and shifted it to a government hospital for post-mortem examination. They have primarily determined that family disputes were the main reason for the murder. A case has been registered against the accused, and the investigation has been expedited. Lawyers at the Chevella court expressed strong outrage over the murder of their colleague. Demanding stringent punishment for the accused, they staged a protest in front of the Moinabad police station. Later, they staged a sit-in protest on the Hyderabad-Bijapur National Highway, causing a massive traffic jam. They are demanding that protection be provided to lawyers.
