
NOB- Kodada news: District SP Sunpreet Singh IPS disclosed the details of Nandhu’s case at a press conference held at the district police office. Such cases have not been registered in the last few years, and the SP has presented letters of appreciation to all the staff who worked as part of this case, and said that the accused were quickly identified and solved with scientific evidence. The SP said that 7 teams were formed with Kodada sub division police to investigate this case. On the morning of the 19.09.2024 at 3am in the village of Vellathuru Colony, a suburb of Mellacheruvu, five thieves broke into the house of Tammishetty Venkaiah, a brick merchant, by cutting a wrought iron plate and breaking it, threatening Venkaiah and his two daughters with their weapons and stealing 6.5 tolas of gold ornaments, 30 tolas of silver ornaments. They stole money of Rs.50 thousand. According to the complaint of the owner of the house, Tammishetti Venkaiah, a case of dacoity theft was registered and investigated at the Mellacheruvu Police Station under Crime No. 165/2024, Section 310(2), 333, 127(2) of the Indian Penal Code. District SP, Additional SP, Kodada DSP inspected the incident site. Additional SP Nageswara Rao, Kodada Division DSP Sridhar Reddy, 7 police teams were formed for the thieves. Kodada Rural CI Rajitha Reddy and his staff were checking vehicles on 24.09.2024 morning at Shantinagar on National Highway 365 to Khammam within the limits of Anantgiri Police Station and spotted a suspicious looking Innova car and identified 5 persons sitting in the car, who were A1 Vemavarapu Nagaraju of NTR District of Andhra Pradesh State. A3 Vemavarapu Pullarao, A4 Bikshalu, A2 Ramawat Mathru of Nalgonda district and A5 Chikkala Anjaneyulu of Nagor Kurnool district, they were detained and interrogated. As part of the investigation, it was found that they had committed theft by threatening them with knives at the house of a brick dealer in Vellathuru village, a suburb of Mellacheruvu. From them 6.5 tolas of gold jewelery worth Rs.1,62,250/-, 30 tolas of silver worth Rs.12000/-, money of Rs.38250/-, Innova car worth Rs.3,50,000/- used in the crime, Rs. 75,000/- worth 5 mobiles, 5 knives used for theft, 2 pairs of hand gloves and masks were seized.
A1 Nagaraj has relatives in Mallareddygudem. Nagaraju had previously met at Mallareddygudem while buying chickens from A6 Vemula Venkateswarlu (chilli seeds dealer) who was selling chickens at Mellacheruvu in the middle of the road while going to and from Mallareddygudem. As Nagaraju needed money, he informed A6 Venkateswarlu that he was determined to commit any theft and asked Venkateswarlu for help. He said that if he steals from the house of Tammishetti Venkaiah, a bricks merchant in Mellacheruvu suburb Vellathuru village, he will get money up to 30 lakhs. According to the scheme, as told by A6 Venkateswarlu, the five accused persons came in the Innova car brought by A2 Ramawat Mathru to his friend and removed the iron foil from the door of brick trader Tammishetti Venkaiah’s house, broke it forcefully and entered the house and threatened Venkaiah and his two daughters who were sleeping in the house with knives and stole 6.5 tolas of gold, 30 tolas of silver and 50 thousand rupees money. They first took their 4 mobiles from the house and threw them outside the house even though the theft was complete. The victims informed the neighbors with another phone in Venkayya’s daughter’s house, and they called 100 and informed the police. The Innova car used in the case had a Delhi registration, which was also spotted at the toll plaza. The information given by the auto driver, a common citizen who gave key information in this case, is very useful in this case. The SP honored the auto driver who gave the information dearly in the presence of the officials. SP said that information should be given as a responsibility of citizens regarding crimes, and people’s sovereignty is very important in crime control and protection of law and order.
