These days movies are coming to OTT platforms within a few days of their release. People are mostly addicted to OTT Platforms. In addition to this, neighbouring criminals have chosen a new way to get involved and are extorting money from innocent people. Take the following precautions to avoid such crimes.

Subscription is over. Please send a link in Call/Email/Messages and collect the data related to your Bank/ATM/UPI PIN and you will get free access to AMAZON PRIME/NETFLIX/ZEE5 etc. for one month. OTP for this by believing the subscription is given and money is taken after getting the OTP.

They will send you a link saying Visit any OTT Platform Website. A similar website will be created. This is called pharming. After logging in, your ATM Card Details/CVV/PIN/UPI PIN will go into their hands when you make the payment. Due to lack of awareness many people say they are doing it from customer care and download a remote application (Team Viewers). They are the ones who say we will renew OTT Plans for free and are operating your phone and deducting money from your accounts. Therefore, due precautions should be taken and awareness should be increased. If such crimes happen to you and you fall into the hands of cyber criminals, immediately contact your nearest police station on NCRP portal (www.cybercrime.gov.in) or helpline 1930 or dial 100 within one hour. An opportunity to freeze their account transactions and give your money back is possible.
