The Rice Mill Team Labor Union under the IFTU has demanded an increase in the wages of the team workers working in the rice mills. To this end, a massive rally was held from the union bank to the local tahsildar office in Alamuru, the mandal center on 08.05.2023. A petition was submitted to Tehsildar IP Shetty seeking to increase the rates in accordance with the increased prices. Chief Secretary of Rice Mill Team Labor Union Chikatala Venkateswara Rao said that more than a thousand team workers are working in the rice mill and the authorities are neglecting to implement them by not providing them with legal rights and facilities and also the Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Party YSR Government has completely failed in implementing the labor laws. They demanded that new agreements should be set up by increasing the wage rates in line with the increased prices as the prices have increased tremendously.
