
NOB- Visakhapatnam news: According to the police, Visakhapatnam-based junior artist Tammareddy Shashank Reddy (24) used to open accounts on social media with fake IDs. So he sent a friend request in the name of Meghna Raghupatra to a victim from the city. He was only chatting with the victim. Emotional with messages. When the victim said that he would meet directly, he was worried that he could be caught. He introduced himself by the name of Meghna and asked to send money to his cell phone number through Paytm and PhonePay. He claimed that his mother had passed away and so far he has collected more than Rs 1.05 lakhs in the name of hospital expenses, house rent and EMIs. If the victim asked for his money back, he assured that he would give it soon. As the money was not returned to him, the victim approached the cybercrime police. The cyber police who investigated on the basis of cellphone number and other technologies found that Shashankreddy was committing fraud in the name of fake IDs. The investigation revealed that the victim was also cheated with a fake ID in the name of Meghna. The accused Shashank Reddy was arrested and a case was registered.
