NOB- Suryapet news: Suryapet District SP Rahul Hegde IPS said in a statement that most of the road accidents in the district are due to the carelessness of motorists, and road accidents can be avoided by taking precautions and following road rules. He said that we are constantly studying the causes of accidents, identifying the black spots and correcting the errors. 687 road accidents have occurred on all roads in the district since January 2023 till date, in which 302 people died and 646 people were injured, these statistics are disturbing, people should be very alert and follow road safety rules and accidents can be avoided by taking early precautions, said the SP.  Parents should be careful with children and asked not to give vehicles to minors.

Those who cause road accidents are given jail terms, maximum 10 years for driving under the influence of alcohol. On this occasion, the SP recalled that the court had given orders for 1 year imprisonment for the accused in the serious road accidents in Suryapet rural and Suryapet urban areas.

Road accidents are mostly due to human errors, negligence and carelessness. It is everyone’s responsibility to avoid accidents by taking precautions. He said that driving beyond capacity and driving under the influence of alcohol is a crime.

Follow road safety rules and police instructions.

– Do not drink and drive vehicles.

– Helmet and seat belt must be worn.

– Do not drive at high speed.

– Do not transport beyond vehicle capacity.

– Don’t travel wrong route, wrong parking.

– Do not triple ride and bike racing.

– Do not carry passengers in goods vehicles.

– Do not drive while talking on cell phone.

– Do not park vehicles anywhere on roads.

– Farmers should not dump grain on roads.

– Don’t hit the roads with tractor gut wheels.

– Do not give vehicles to children.

– Don’t drive while drowsy.
