
NOB- Health news: ICMR-NIS Study on Nutritional Needs of Indians. The study revealed that 55.4 percent of health problems are due to malnutrition. It is recommended to eat pulses, meat, grains and milk in adequate amounts. ICMR says that the chance of lifestyle diseases can be reduced by 80 percent with nutrition and exercise. The Medical Council of India has advised the people of the country to take protein supplements with the aim of building muscle. It is recommended to reduce the use of salt, sugar and ultra-processed foods, and to take food-related decisions after reading the information on the packaging of food products. To this extent, the National Institute of Nutrition under ICMR has released several food rules on 08.05.2024. It is advised to follow these rules to provide nutrients to the body and avoid lifestyle diseases.
