NOB- Africa news: Another major accident has occurred in the West African country of Mali. A gold mine in eastern Mali collapsed. An environmental organization official said that the search for the victims is ongoing.  Mali is one of the major gold producing countries in Africa. Such accidents often occur in the mines here. In this context, 48 people lost their lives when the mine collapsed around 6 pm on 15.02.2025. Many were seriously injured. It is noteworthy that this is the second accident in just a month. While local authorities confirmed the incident, the Keniba Gold Miners Association put the death toll at 48. The search for the victims is ongoing, an environmental organization official said.
