Vatican Camerlengo Cardinal Kevin Ferrell confirmed the news. Pope Francis was 88 years old. Born on December 17, 1936, he was elected the 266th Pope on March 13, 2013. He became the first person to be elected Pope from the United States. The Pope devoted his entire life to the service of the Church. It is known that he was recently treated in the hospital and discharged. Pope Francis also gave a message on Easter Sunday. However, his health deteriorated and he died within a few hours.
