
NOB-Tirupati news: After receiving information that devotees are being cheated by making fake MLA/MLC recommendation letters in the name of public representatives in Tirumala, which is a holy place, to provide darshan to the Lord, the police have set up a surveillance. In this context, it has been found that two persons named Balli Praveen Kumar and Devata Chenchu Balaji from Naidupeta have been making fake letter pads in the names of MLAs/MLCs for some time now and have been charging Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 20,000/- from devotees on the pretext of arranging break darshan. The police arrested them while they were making fake letters in the names of Sullurpet MLA Smt. N. Vijayasri, Gudur MLA Pasham Sunil Kumar, and MLC Balli Kalyan Chakravarthy and defrauding devotees from Hyderabad. In this process, the police seized evidence such as data used in the fake documents, bank passbooks, and Rs. 1,000 in cash from them. Cases have already been registered in Gudur I Town PS and Tirumala II Town PS, and during the investigation, it was found that the accused had also committed some other frauds. The police have already seized the equipment used in the fraudulent activities of the two, namely laptops, printers and mobile phones. Responding to the incident, the Tirumala Police clearly warned that people should not trust any middlemen for the darshan of Srivari and that darshan and service tickets are available only on the official TTD website or counters. They appealed to the people to immediately inform the police if anyone asks for money in the name of darshan. They said that strict action and surveillance will continue as per the orders of the SP to stop fraud on false recommendation letters. Along with the Tirumala Police, the TTD Vigilance also provided key support to the arrests in this case. They asked anyone else who has fallen victim to such fraud to contact the police immediately.
