NOB-Hyderabad news: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that a single-window system would be implemented to facilitate all necessary permissions related to films, thereby fostering the growth of the film industry with Telangana as its hub. He stated that the government is striving to transform Hyderabad into a global cinema hub, much in the same way it has emerged as a central hub for the IT and pharmaceutical industries. The Chief Minister attended as the Chief Guest at the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards presentation ceremony held at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, several MPs, advisors, MLCs, MLAs, Telangana Film Development Corporation Chairman Dil Raju, and film industry stalwarts including Chiranjeevi, Kamal Haasan, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Madhuri Dixit, Jayasudha, and Khushbu were present, alongside various directors, producers, and actors. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister remarked that it was the government’s vision to recognize and promote the film sector as a full-fledged industry akin to the IT and pharmaceutical sectors that led to the revival of state film awards. Consequently, the ‘Gaddar Film Awards’ were instituted in the name of Gaddar, replacing the ‘Nandi Awards’ which had been discontinued in the state for the past ten years. Furthermore, awards for the entire ten-year hiatus period were presented during this event. The Chief Minister extended his special congratulations, on behalf of the Telangana government, to all the award recipients participating in this second phase of the awards ceremony. He emphasized that the Telangana government views the presentation of the Gaddar Film Awards as a solemn responsibility. At one time, NTR, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Rama Naidu, and Krishna worked tirelessly to facilitate the relocation of the film industry from Chennai to Hyderabad. Much like the four minarets that define the Charminar, these four stalwarts played a pivotal role in bringing the Telugu film industry to this city. Actor Prabhakar Reddy generously donated his own land to provide housing for film industry workers. It is also essential to recall the immense efforts undertaken by Director Dasari Narayana Rao to resolve any issues or crises that arose within the industry. Furthermore, the establishment of Ramoji Film City by Ramoji Rao was instrumental in ensuring that the film industry took permanent root in Hyderabad. Moving beyond linguistic distinctions be it Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, or Telugu, there is a need for the entire industry to unite under a single umbrella as “Pan-India” or “Indian Cinema,” transforming it into a global hub capable of delivering exceptional films. Let us elevate this ecosystem to such a stature that we can even invite Hollywood productions to Hyderabad, enabling them to be produced right here in our city. Netflix, a giant in the OTT space, has launched its center”iLine Hyderabad” in the city. With the arrival of Netflix, it is as if Hollywood itself has arrived in Hyderabad. We intend to implement a “Single Window System” to streamline and facilitate international scale film production here, a dedicated platform for this purpose will be created very soon. Gaddar affectionately known as the “People’s Warship” (Prajayuddha Nauka) was a beacon of consciousness and inspiration who moved millions with the power of his voice. In his honor, we have revived these awards and named them after him. Indeed, cinema serves as an incredibly potent weapon for addressing and resolving social issues. “Cinema should serve as a tool to awaken social consciousness. Recognizing its social responsibility, it must convey messages through films aimed at resolving societal issues. Hyderabad, Telangana, is an extremely secure state. It offers ample opportunities for talent, Hyderabad provides every conceivable opportunity. Produce Hollywood films right here your investments are secure. The Government of Telangana guarantees this,” he stated. In the special categories, mementos, certificates of appreciation, and cash prizes were presented to the winners including Konidela Chiranjeevi (NTR National Award), Singeetam Srinivasa Rao (BN Reddy Film Award), Chalasani Ashwini Dutt (Nagi Reddy–Chakrapani Award), Suddala Ashok Teja (Dr. C. Narayana Reddy Award), Jayasudha (Akkineni Nageswara Rao Award), R. Narayana Murthy (Kanta Rao Award), Akkineni Ramesh Prasad (Raghupathi Venkaiah Award), and Kamal Haasan (Paidi Jairaj Award) as well as to the winners in various other categories, such as Best Actor Akkineni Naga Chaitanya (Thandel) and Best Actress Rashmika Mandanna (The Girlfriend).
