
NOB- Pune news: The partially burnt body of an unidentified man was found next to the historic Bhuleshwar temple near Pune in 2025 June month. Autopsy revealed multiple blows with a sharp weapon which had inflicted deep wounds. There was no identification, no technical leads, and almost no evidence. But as the police went about their tried and tested methods of investigation, they allegedly unravelled a tangled and torn affair that had led to the brutal murder and eventually arrested five people, including a woman who was at the centre of it all. On the morning of June 27th 2025 year, the Pune Rural police received information about a dead body that local residents found next to the Bhuleshwar temple in Yavat town, around 50 km from Pune city. Teams from the Yavat police station and those from the Local Crime Branch (LCB) of the Pune Rural police rushed to the location. The investigation revealed that it was the partially burnt body of an unidentified male. โThere were no identification documents, marks, or any other clues at the location that would immediately help police identify the victim. The autopsy revealed major blows with heavy sharp weapons on the head, chest and back, which were suspected to have led to the death. Setting the body on fire using fuel pointed to a clear attempt to destroy the evidence,โ said an officer who investigated the case.
