While he was taking Rs. 25,000 from his office in Vidyanagar to withdraw a show cause notice for the sale of urea, ACB DSP Y. Ramesh caught him red-handed. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials in Bhadradri district raided and caught the Assistant Director of Agriculture Department while accepting a bribe. This officer, Narasimha Rao, was caught in a covert operation conducted by ACB personnel while accepting a bribe from a fertilizer shop owner. According to the details, Narasimha Rao, who promised to help in the matter of permissions related to the operation of the fertilizer shop, demanded a bribe of Rs. 25,000 from a businessman. The businessman, fed up with this, complained to ACB officials. The ACB, which had earlier laid a trap as per the plan, caught and arrested Narasimha Rao the moment he was taking the bribe. Currently, the ACB officials have registered a case and started the investigation. It is reported that searches are underway at the officer’s house and office. The incident has created a stir locally. The officials have warned that the ACB will continue to raid officers who use their official positions to demand bribes.
