NOB-Afzalgunj news: Afzalgunj Police arrested Kurva Naresh @ Potti Naresh (29), an automobile theft offender, and recovered five stolen motorcycles from his possession. The action followed a complaint regarding the theft of a Hero Passion Plus from Osmania General Hospital parking on 18.11.2025. Acting swiftly, the Crime Team led by SHO N. Ravi and DI B. Ravi Kiran apprehended the accused on 01.12.2025, during which he confessed to committing multiple bike thefts in Afzalgunj and Mahboob Nagar. The recovered vehicles include Hero Passion Plus, Hero Honda Passion Plus, Hero Passion Pro, Hero Honda Splendor Plus, and Hero Splendour, connected to five cases under Sec. 305(b) BNS. The accused used duplicate keys to break handle locks and target bikes in crowded areas. He is also involved in earlier theft cases registered in Mahboob Nagar, Chilkalguda, and Afzalgunj. The good work of DSI V. Narender Reddy and the Crime Staff has been commended by senior officers, including DCP East Zone Dr. B. Balaswamy, IPS, under whose supervision the arrest was made.
