NOB-Suryapet news: District SP Narasimha IPS disclosed the arrest details at a press conference organized at the district police office. 4 accused who were stealing gold ornaments from sleeping people at night in Suryapet, Nalgonda, Janagama districts and some districts of Andhra Pradesh for the last few days were arrested by the District CCS and Arvapalli police in Arvapalli mandal center. The case was registered under the supervision of CCS Inspector and Nagaram CI. Two cases of theft were registered in Arvapalli mandal in the last week of October 2025. While investigating these cases, on reliable information, this afternoon, while conducting checks at the junction of Arvapalli mandal center, the CCS police under the command of Arvapalli stopped and questioned four people coming suspiciously on two two-wheelers. During the checks, 4.25 tolas of gold worth Rs. 5 lakh and silver worth Rs. 50 thousand were found from them. Two vehicles and four mobile phones used by them were seized. During interrogation, they confessed to committing thefts at night in Arvapalli, Nagaram, Tungaturthi and Shaligouraram police stations in October 2025 and also confessed to committing three more thefts in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Their style of theft is to target sleeping people who have their doors open at night and those who are sleeping outside and steal gold ornaments around their necks and other items from their homes.

The accused are from the state of Andhra Pradesh:

A1 – Oleti Mahalaksala Rao @ Maha Age 23 years Professional labourer Udhulanka Polavaram mandal BR Ambedkar Konaseema district.

A2 – Gaddeda Surendra Age 25 years Chinna Malla Village, Penugonda mandal, West Godavari district.

A3 – Alleti Rajesh Age 26 years Professional labourer Veerabhadrapuram village Tanuku mandal West Godavari district.

A4 – Vendra Raghavendra Rao Age 37 years Professional driver Veduluru village, West Godavari district.

These four accused targeted sleeping people at night and committed jewellery thefts. These accused were identified as thieves in nine cases.

Past criminal history of the accused: Accused A1 has 37 cases against him and it is reported that he escaped from Kakinada jail. Police have identified 16 cases against accused A2. Seven cases have been identified against accused A3, and cases are being investigated against accused A4.CCS CI, CCS SI, CCS staff, CA Nagaram, SI Arvapalli and staff who worked exceptionally hard in catching this gang were appreciated. Rewards will be given to the staff who have shown excellence in this case.DSP Prasanna Kumar, CI Nageswara Rao, CCS SI Harikrishna, Arvapalli SI Saidulu and staff were present at the event.
