Without knowing the actual facts of Electricity Amendment Bill 2022, the Bill was opposed by many states in the country. By spreading false and incomplete information across the country and asking the electricity employees of many states to go on strike against the Electricity Bill placement in Lok Sabha was seen today. Yet the Electricity Amendment Bill was placed in Lok Sabha and many clarifications were given on it by the Power minister Singh, these are

1. The Bill is Pro-people and Pro-farmers in particular. The free power distribution for farmers by many states can be still continued and subsidies can be availed too.
2. Non-discriminatory open access to the distribution network for distribution of electricity will be availed for all licensed distributors.
3. The competition between all licensed distributors will be in a fare way of fixed charges per kilowatt of power per hour that is maximum ceiling and minimum tariff by the Central government and by the Appropriate Committee appointed by the Central government.
4. This Bill allows the consumer to choose the provider as per the consumer convenience like what was now done in choosing mobile network, internet etc.,
5. This Bill has a great motive in privatization of electricity sector so that healthy competition will be there in providing electricity to the consumer in an efficient way as per the rules and regulations.
6. Use of renewable resources in a sustainable manner thinking of Global warming, this Bill was especially made towards the welfare of people.
