NOB_METPALLY: A corrupt officer was trapped by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Metpally, Jagtial district.

CDPO of Metpally, Daroju Padma of Jagtial district was caught red-handed by ACB officials while accepting a bribe of Rs 63,000.

There are 21 Anganwadi centres in Metpally Urban Mandal. She demanded a bribe of Rs 1,000 per month from each Anganwadi centre, amounting to Rs 3,000 for three months, totaling Rs 63,000.

Adilabad in-charge ACB DSP Gore Madhu said that the bribe was demanded to avoid writing adverse remarks during inspections of the Anganwadi centres.

On Friday, ACB officials caught her while she was taking the Rs 63,000 bribe from the complainants outside her office premises, seized the cash from her and arrested the accused. ACB officials said that she will be produced before the Special Judge for ACB cases in Karimnagar.
