NOB-Hyderabad news: The Commissioner’s Task Force (Golconda Zone), along with Masab Tank Police, apprehended three individuals involved in creating fear among investors and extorting money using firearm threats. The operation was carried out based on credible information, leading to the successful arrest of the accused and seizure of incriminating material. The investigation revealed that the main accused, Mohd Afroz Baig @ Shakeel (46), a real estate businessman and proprietor of MAB Projects based in Banjara Hills, conspired with his associate Teljeri Balakishan @ Balraj (about 30), a milk vendor from Boduppal, and Bittu Kumar @ Raju (about 30), a dairy worker currently residing in Bhuvanagiri and originally from Bihar, to intimidate investors and individuals demanding repayment of money. To execute this plan, they arranged for an illegal country-made pistol and ammunition, which was procured through illegal channels from Bihar. The accused retained the weapon and used it to threaten victims, instilling fear of death and coercing them into submission, thereby facilitating extortion. During the operation, police seized a country made pistol, 18 live rounds, two magazines, a vehicle, multiple mobile phones, and a hockey stick from their possession. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Arms Act and BNS, and further investigation is underway.
