Horrific fire accident, 7 burnt alive in a single house

NOB-Madhya Pradesh news: A tragedy unfolded in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. A massive fire that broke out in the early hours of 18.03.2026 morning in the Brijeshwari Annex residential area has resulted in a profound tragedy. Seven people lost their lives after flames suddenly erupted within a multi storied building. The usually quiet locality was suddenly thrown into chaos, filled with cries of distress and thick plumes of smoke. Upon receiving the information, teams led by Indore District Magistrate Shivam Verma rushed to the scene and initiated rescue operations. According to preliminary details provided by Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh, the primary cause of the accident was an electric vehicle that was being charged outside the house. An explosion suddenly occurred at the vehicle’s charging point, igniting the fire. Tragically, the presence of over 10 gas cylinders inside the house which subsequently exploded caused the intensity of the blaze to escalate to an unimaginable level. The building belongs to a man named Manoj Pugalia. As he is involved in the polymer business, chemicals stored within the house contributed to the rapid spread of the fire. Thanks to the initiative shown by locals during the incident, three individuals managed to survive. A neighbour stated that they rescued the three individuals before the police and fire brigade arrived. Firefighting personnel have since brought the blaze under control. Officials have confirmed that seven people have died. The District Collector stated that two floors of the building have been cleared, and NDRF teams are currently searching the third floor to determine if anyone remains inside. This incident has once again demonstrated just how challenging it is to carry out rescue operations when such accidents occur in densely populated residential areas.
