Haryana DGP OP Singh made comments on behavior of hooligans

NOB_ Haryana DGP comments on hooligans behavior

NOB-Haryana news: Speaking to reporters in Gurugram on 08.11.2025, OP Singh (brother-in-law of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput), made interesting comments on vehicle inspection. “We do not stop and check all the vehicles on the road. But if we see a Thar car, how can we leave it? Even if we see a Bullet bike, it is the same. Because all the miscreants in the society use such vehicles. The vehicle a person chooses reflects their mentality. Especially those who drive Thar do stunts on the roads,” he said. He felt that Thar is not just a car but has become a statement that says ‘I am this’. He cited a recent incident. “The son of an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) hit someone with his Thar car and killed him. Now he wants his son to be released. But we asked in whose name the car is registered. It is in his name. So he is the real hooligan,” the DGP commented sharply. Without leaving out those in his own department, he warned, “If we take a list of how many people in our police department have Thar cars, the person who owns that car must be a little crazy. It is not possible to engage in hooliganism and not get caught at the same time. If you want to demonstrate, you will have to face the consequences.” DGP OP Singh’s comments went viral in an instant. Netizens are divided into two groups and are discussing. Some are defending that what the DGP said is true and that Thar and Bullet vehicles have become the identity of goons. Others are questioning the poor condition of the roads and the responsibility of the police, saying that it is not right to generalize like this. “How many crimes have been committed using Bullet bikes? Have chain snatchings and murders taken place?” One asked, while another supported him, saying, “What the DGP said is literally true. Their decision is commendable.” The recent incident in Gurugram, where five out of six people died when a Thar car hit a divider, has further strengthened these concerns. The police assumed that the victims were coming from a party as they were wearing pub wristbands. In this context, the DGP’s comments assume significance.
