NOB_ KTR quash petition rejected by High court

NOB- Telangana news: The Telangana High Court has given a shock to BRS Working President KTR in the Formula E car racing case. The High Court bench dismissed the quash petition filed by KTR seeking to quash the case registered by the ACB. The court agreed with the government’s arguments. The High Court also lifted the interim orders. It made it clear that they cannot interfere in the ACB investigation. The High Court commented that everyone should follow the law. The rule of law applies to everyone. Meanwhile, it is known that the ACB has registered a case against KTR and two others for diversion of funds in Formula E car racing. The ACB registered an FIR naming KTR as A1, IAS officer Arvind Kumar as A2, and HMDA retired chief engineer BLN Reddy as A3. However, KTR filed a quash petition in the High Court to quash the FIR registered by the ACB. In the past, when this petition was heard in the High Court twice, the court gave interim orders not to arrest KTR. In the next hearing, lengthy arguments were held in the court regarding this case. KTR’s lawyer argued in the High Court that Section 409 was not applicable and none of the cases filed against KTR were applicable. KTR’s lawyer brought to the court’s attention that there was no corruption involved at the time of signing the agreements with the FEO, and that there was no evidence that KTR had benefited. The lawyer on behalf of KTR presented arguments for about two and a half hours. On the other hand, the lawyer on behalf of the government argued that KTR had abused his power. That is why he was included as A1. He told the High Court that the case was in the preliminary investigation stage. The real facts would come out if KTR was interrogated. He said that the Governor had obtained permission to register an FIR in this case. He also said that the case was registered only after the preliminary investigation. The Advocate General argued that KTR played a key role in this case and that the quash petition should be dismissed for a full investigation. After hearing both the arguments, the court reserved the case on December 31st 2024. The case was adjourned till 07.01.2025. However, the High Court, which gave its verdict on 07.01.2025, made it clear that it could not interfere in the case. On the other hand, there is a possibility of key developments in this case. It is reported that KTR’s legal team is ready to approach the Supreme Court immediately after the High Court’s verdict against KTR.
