NOB -New Delhi news: A public interest litigation was filed in the Supreme Court while the political tussle continued over the inauguration of the new Parliament building. Advocate Jaya Sukin of the Supreme Court has filed a plea in the Supreme Court seeking a direction to the Lok Sabha Secretariat to inaugurate the building by the President instead of the Prime Minister. In his Plea, the petitioner claimed that the Lok Sabha Secretariat violated the Constitution by not inviting the President to the event. He reminded that it is the President who appoints the Prime Minister and other ministers. All the decisions taken by them regarding the functioning are taken in the name of the President. Not inviting such a President to this program is an insult to the highest constitutional office. The Supreme Court agreed to hear the case on 26.05.2023. He flagged that the government is acting with arrogance. “Mr. Modi. Parliament is a temple of democracy built by the people. The arrogant attitude of your government has destroyed the parliamentary system itself. “140 crore Indians want to know what you mean by taking away the right to inaugurate the Parliament building from the President,” Congress president Kharge tweeted.

TMC MP Derek O’Brien commented that the opposition’s decision to boycott the inauguration of the Parliament building is a proof of the diversity and diversity of our country. “From Vande Bharat trains to the Parliament building everything should be started by the Prime Minister. His photo should also be put on the covid vaccination certificates. He should be given credit for the work done by any department. This kind of megalomania (philosophy of thinking oneself superior to others) is a sign of dictators who suffer from insecurity,” TMC spokesman Saket Gokhale said. Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad responded to their comments. He called upon the opposition parties to show their open heart when they came to the inauguration of the Parliament on May 28th 2023. They have made it clear that they have respect for President Murmu. They do not want to drag the post of President into politics.
