NOB- Agartala news: The police have cracked the mystery of a youth from Indranagar area of Agartala within days. The body of a youth who went missing was found in a trolley bag in an ice cream freezer at a shop in Gandachchera in Dhalai district, 120 km from Tripura’s capital Agartala. The police have identified the accused as Dr. Dibakar Saha (28), his father Deepak (52), mother Debika (40), Nabanita Das (25), Joydeep Das (20), and Animesh Yadav (21).
Root cause of the murder: A youth named Shariful Islam (20), a resident of Agartala, who was working as an electrician in the Agartala Smart City Mission project, went missing on June 8th 2025. A missing case was registered at the Capital Complex (NCC) police station on June 9th 2025. Superintendent of Police (SP) Kiran Kumar said that a love triangle between a doctor named Dibakar Saha (28) and another woman Shariful, led to the murder. Sharipul was in love with a young woman. However, her close relative Dibakar Saha also liked her. The police have identified the phone conversations between the two. In this process, Shariful who was an obstacles to Dibakar’s love has to be removed. For this, Dibakar drew a detailed sketch.He called Shariful to meet him at Joydeep’s house in Indranagar. When he came home, Saha Joydeep, Nabanitha and Animesh slit his throat and murdered him. Later, they tied his hands, packed his body in a travel bag and Dibakar and his parents took the bag to Gandacherra. The suitcase was later stored in the ice cream freezer of his father’s shop. The police cracked the case within days. The police arrested six people, including Dibakar’s parents. Another woman was also among them. Six accused were arrested on 10.06.2025 night and the body of Shariful was recovered. The accused was produced before the court on 12.06.2025. The police have identified through mobile messages that the love affair between the three led to the murder.
