Section 188 for partying at Goa beach – Goa government

Planning to go to Goa and party with friends? However, one must be aware of these new rules. Otherwise, there is a possibility of heavy fine. In order to further strengthen tourism in Goa, the Goa government has brought strict rules to keep tourist areas clean and safe. It has been clarified that heavy fines will be imposed if those rules are violated. It has issued orders to this effect on 31st  October 2022.

A fine of Rs.5000 will be imposed if a person, company, association or organization violates any rules. The fine may be up to Rs.50, 000. Actions will be taken as per Section 188 of IPC.’ It is mentioned in the government order. According to the new rules, cooking and driving in open areas on the beach are prohibited. Legal action will be taken against littering and breaking liquor bottles on the beach.

A few rules like this

►No more driving on the beach and cooking in public is prohibited.

► Littering on the beach, breaking drunken bottles is a crime.

► The new regulations will also apply to the various organizations and businessmen serving the tourists along with them.

► Water sports should be conducted only in recognized areas.

► Issuance of tickets should be done at the recognized counters. Tickets should not be issued in public.

► Small vendors business will be fined if they obstruct the tourists.

► Actions will be taken if anyone asks tourists for money and creates riots.

► Those who violate the rules will be fined from rupees five thousand to rupees fifty thousand.
