Kamareddy (NOB): Following the state-wide call of Telangana Mudiraj Mahasabha, Kamareddy District Mudiraj General Secretary Guru Narasimhulu released a press note demanding justice for the community.
He demanded that the government allocate special funds for Mudiraj community and immediately implement GO-6. He said after implementation, 3 acres of land should be allotted in every village for Mudiraj families to grow fruits and orchards, as many depend on it for livelihood.
He also urged the government to take up repairs and registration of tanks and ponds (cheruvus and kuntas). He alleged that in many villages where Mudiraj population is high, membership is denied in local tanks if Bestha community members are present. As a result, only Fisheries Department officials sell the fish seeds and earn from it, while Mudiraj fishermen live in fear of pressure from the government if they try to release fish seeds into ponds.
He demanded that wherever tanks and ponds exist, Mudiraj brothers should be allowed to bravely take up fish farming and the government should ensure justice to the community immediately.
