Govt Must Reconsider True-Up Charges Issue – BJP Leader Keerthi Reddy

NOB, Hyderabad: BJP State Executive Member Juturu Keerthi Reddy has alleged that the Congress government is penalizing the people of Telangana in the name of True-Up charges.Reacting on Tuesday at Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad to reports that 30 paise per unit from November and 50 paise per unit from December will be levied as True-Up charges on Telangana power consumers, she lashed out at the government for forgetting its promises and imposing additional burden. She said the government promised free electricity up to 200 units and is now deceiving people in the name of True-Up charges. This Is Not Correct:

She criticized that while people are already suffering due to El Nino with rising prices of essential commodities, imposing additional burden in the form of electricity bills on the common man is not right. She faulted the Electricity Regulatory Commission for allowing collection of True-Up charges and demanded that the government itself should bear the accumulated True-Up charges of Rs. 7,635.22 crores from 2022-23 and 2023-24.Is imposing additional burdens on people what you call “Prajapalana” (People’s Governance)? she questioned.Govt Should Reconsider:

She demanded that the government should reconsider and find ways to reduce the additional burden on common and middle-class families. She made it clear that otherwise, they will launch an agitation in support of electricity consumers.
