Emergency crews quickly evacuated visitors and brought the fire under control. The fire broke out at 10:30 a.m. on 24.12.2024 when the elevator cables overheated. Euronews sources said the fire was brought under control shortly after the emergency services arrived. The Eiffel Tower has been temporarily closed for maintenance following the fire, officials said. No injuries were reported. The world-famous tourist attraction is visited by an average of 15,000 to 25,000 tourists a day.
