NOB-Anakapalli news: Anakapalli district police have arrested an inter-district gang of fraudsters who were cheating common people by claiming to have high-level contacts in the Chief Minister’s office (CM Peshi) and promising them government jobs. The Rolugunta police successfully completed this operation under the orders of District SP Tuhin Sinha, IPS. A woman from Rolugunta mandal was preparing for the DSC (District Selection Committee) examination when a man named Eragorla Srinu from Prakasam district became acquainted with her husband. He convinced them that he had connections with high-ranking officials in the Chief Minister’s office and promised to secure an SGT (Secondary Grade Teacher) post in the February 2025 DSC exam for Rs. 15 lakhs. To gain the victim’s trust, he sent a fake audio clip that sounded like Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu himself was speaking. Whenever the victims became suspicious, he arranged a conference call with another person who pretended to be Bhargav Chowdary, the PA to Minister Nara Lokesh. The accused collected approximately Rs. 12.13 lakhs from the victims in instalments under the pretext of securing a job. When the job did not materialize, the victims approached the Rolugunta police. The police, after conducting an investigation, apprehended the accused using technical evidence. Eragorla Srinu (Principal Accused), a native of Prakasam district, he was arrested on the 16.01.2026. He is a repeat offender who previously collected Rs. 2.50 lakhs in Vijayawada under the pretext of a lineman post and Rs. 11 lakhs in Addanki for an SI (Sub-Inspector) post. Shaik Saleem (Second Accused), a resident of Vijayawada, he impersonated a minister’s PA (Personal Assistant) and threatened the victims for Rs. 50,000/- given to him by Srinu. He was arrested on 22.01.2026 in Vijayawada. On this occasion, the District SP stated, “Government jobs are filled only on the basis of merit and through the official process. Do not believe anyone who asks for money claiming to be the CM’s PA or a minister’s PA. The public should be vigilant against such fraudsters,” he advised. The SP specially commended Anakapalli Sub-Division DSP Smt. M. Sravani, Kothakota CI G. Koteswara Rao, Rolugunta SI P.
