NOB- Delhi news: Assembly elections are going to be held in Delhi in a week. In this context, the parties are conducting campaign programs in a hurry. As part of this, the parties are baiting the people. They are trying to turn the people towards them by saying what they will do if they come to power. In this context, the Congress party has promised a monthly allowance of Rs. 2,500 and free electricity up to 300 units to women. In addition, the Congress has pledged to provide free medical treatment worth Rs. 25 lakh to Delhi residents. To attract young voters, the party has promised a monthly stipend of Rs. 8,500 to trainees and a one year apprenticeship in the government and private sectors. It plans to set up 100 Indira Canteens across the city, saying that meals will be served for just Rs. 5. Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Maken said the manifesto reflects the Congress’s record of governance in Delhi as well as other states where the party is in power. “We will deliver on the promise. The Congress has honoured its pre-poll promises in other states and will do the same in Delhi”. The Congress has also promised subsidised LPG cylinders worth Rs. 500 and free ration kits for families, including 2 kg sugar, 1 kg cooking oil, 6 kg pulses and 250 grams of tea leaves. The Congress has also promised free health insurance coverage up to Rs.25 lakh and distribution of free ration kits to eligible families. The manifesto, which is structured around 22 focus areas, was launched by Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav along with Congress communications in-charge Jairam Ramesh. Elections for all 70 assembly seats in Delhi will be held in a single phase on February 5th 2025, with the counting of votes and results to be announced on February 26th 2025.
