NOB_ Factory fire rages for over 20 hours

NOB- Medchal news: A massive fire that erupted at SSV Fab Industries in the Jeedimetla industrial area of Medchal district on 26.11.2024 afternoon has continued to blaze for over 20 hours, leading to the collapse of the factory building and further intensifying the situation. The fire, which began around 1 p.m. on the top floor of the three-storey plastic bag manufacturing unit, rapidly spread throughout the facility. Oil drums stored on-site exacerbated the flames, making containment efforts challenging. Preliminary investigations suggest that an electrical fault may have triggered the blaze. Despite the severity of the incident, all 60 workers present at the time managed to evacuate safely, resulting in no reported injuries or casualties. However, property worth crores has been gutted, marking a significant loss for the company. SSV Fab Industries is a leading manufacturer of plastic bags, producing up to 4 lakh bags daily for domestic and international clients across sectors such as sugar, rice, food grains, cement, and fertilizers. The fire department has deployed 10 fire engines from various stations, including Jeedimetla, Kukatpally, Secunderabad, Charlapally, Madhapur, and LB Nagar. Given the intensity of the fire, authorities have also utilized a Bronto Skylift with modern technology to prevent the flames from spreading to neighboring industrial units.
