
NOB- Hyderabad news: The newly issued voter ID card has become more secure. It is designed with several advanced standards to curb the creation of counterfeit cards. State Chief Electoral Officer Vikasraj said that the Central Election Commission is distributing these free of cost to newly registered voters, including the e-Voter Identity Card which can be downloaded online and which will be downloaded in PDF form as well. Just like the Aadhaar card, the new voter card will have a large photo of the cardholder along with a smaller photo (ghost). A QR code is embedded on the card along with a hologram. He disclosed that the card design (guilloché pattern) has been designed with the latest technology and unique standards so that there is no possibility of making fake cards.
Central Election Commission has provided facility to download e-epic voter card pdf through voter portal. For that, one has to log into the voter portal created by the Election Commission first. After entering the 10-digit voter ID card number, an OTP will be sent to the registered phone number. It can be registered and downloaded. Vikasraj clarified that it is not possible to download the card in PDF form if the phone number is not linked to the voter list.
The Central Election Commission has allowed those who have linked their phone number with the voter list to download the cards of up to six family members from that number (previously only one additional card was allowed). Vikasraj said that although there are about three crore voters in the state of Telangana, only 30 to 40 percent of the phone numbers are registered in the voter list, and efforts are being made to collect and link the numbers of the rest of the voters.
