
NOB- Karimnagar news: District Collector Pamela Satpathi said that through the Snehitha program, students in every school in the district should be given extensive awareness on protection, safety and child protection laws, thereby instilling courage and assurance in them. A coordination meeting was held with officers, employees and staff of various departments at Kala Bharathi on the second phase of Snehitha awareness programs under the Women Development and Child Welfare Department. Speaking at the meeting, District Collector Pamela Satpathi said that they have already completed one phase of awareness programs for children in all schools on their protection and safety. Due to this, students have become aware and have come to the point of making complaints boldly. She said that to further expand this program, a team has been formed for each mandal with officials and staff from agriculture, medical and health, ICDS, DRDA, MEPMA, and panchayat. She said that these teams will visit two schools every Tuesday and meet with the students to find out if there are any problems regarding their safety and security. She said that these members will inform them about good touch, bad touch, POCSO Act, and how to deal with sexual harassment. She said that a friendly complaint box will be set up in every school and if students face any problems from school staff or outsiders, they should boldly file their complaint in the complaint box. She said that this complaint box will be monitored by the SHE teams. She said that teachers should provide trust and assurance to students in schools, which is a social responsibility. She said that teachers have a greater responsibility than parents for the protection of girls and they should act from a humane perspective. Municipal Commissioner Praful Desai said that teachers should give children the confidence that they are there. She said that the friendship groups should create widespread awareness so that girls can complain boldly about the problems faced by them in schools. She suggested that the second phase of the friendship program should be made successful with coordination. Later, a poster related to the friendship program was released. In this meeting, District Welfare Officer Saraswathi, District Medical Officer Venkataramana, Mepma PD Swaruparani, She Team Inspector Srilatha, Additional DRDO Ravi Kumar, District Panchayat Officer Jagadishwar and other officials, ICDS Mepma DRDA staff, government school teachers and employees participated.
