
NOB_Nizamabad: A tragic and unfortunate incident occurred at the Nizamabad District Police Headquarters on Friday morning.
Reserve Inspector (RI) H. Satish, who was on duty, died on the spot after his service revolver accidentally misfired while being cleaned.
According to police officials, RI Satish had completed his night NSO duty and returned to the headquarters in the morning. While cleaning his service weapon, it accidentally went off, and the bullet caused fatal injuries.
Immediately after receiving the information, Nizamabad Police Commissioner P. Sai Chaitanya rushed to the headquarters and inspected the scene. He enquired about the sequence of events from the staff present. The body was later shifted to Nizamabad Government District Hospital for post-mortem.
The Commissioner has ordered a comprehensive inquiry into how a live round remained in the chamber and what led to the misfire. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
The sudden death of RI Satish, regarded as an efficient officer, has shocked the district police force. Officers and staff have expressed their deepest condolences to his family.
