NOB- Delhi news: Security has been tightened in several areas of Delhi ahead of the arrival of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack accused Tahawoor Rana, who was extradited from US. It is reported that Rana, a Canadian national of Pakistani origin, will be taken to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) headquarters from Palam airport in a bulletproof vehicle. The Delhi Police Special Cell has been put on high alert. Special Weapons and Tactics commandos have already been deployed at the airport. Sources said that Rana’s convoy will have armored vehicles along with the bulletproof car. Along with the bulletproof vehicle, a “Marksman” vehicle has also been kept ready. The “Marksman” vehicle is a highly secure and armored car, which can withstand any attack. It is usually used by security agencies to transport high-risk individuals, including terrorists and gangsters, to courts or agency offices. Rana, who is being extradited from the US after nearly 16 years of his arrest, will be formally arrested by the NIA upon his arrival. He will then be produced before the court virtually and then taken into judicial custody. The former Pakistani military personnel are kept in the high security ward of Tihar Jail. In NIA custody, Rana is likely to be questioned to ascertain the role of Pakistani state leaders behind the 26/11 attacks. On the other hand, the central government has appointed Narendra Mann as the special public prosecutor to argue the case registered by the NIA against Tahawuor Rana. He will present his arguments in the NIA special courts and appellate courts. The Union Home Ministry has notified this. Narender Mann will continue as Special Public Prosecutor for a period of 3 years from the date of release of this notification or until the completion of the trial of the case.
