Astrazeneca has paused Phase-III trials of their vaccine which was being tested on 30000 participants due to transverse myelitis (an inflammatory syndrome that affects the spinal cord by viral infection) diagnosed in a volunteer in the UK trial.
The reason of illness is not known and has to be investigated that it is because of vaccine or anything else. An Oxford University spokes person said, this was not the first time, since April and during large trials illness will happen.
Medical regulatory MHRA will take final decision on when to restart the trials.
