
NOB- Banglore news: There are allegations that dog meat is being supplied to some hotels in Bangalore. Hindutva activist Puneeth Kerehalli said dog meat is being served mixed with mutton. The Karnataka government has responded to allegations that dog meat is being supplied to some hotels in Bangalore. The concerned authorities were immediately alerted. In this context, the officials of the state food safety department seized a huge quantity of meat packets at the Bengaluru railway station. The meat samples were sent to a food laboratory. On 27.07.2024, some groups alleged that dog meat is being brought from Rajasthan and supplied to some hotels in Bengaluru. With that, Karnataka Food Safety and Standards Authority (FSSA) officials and police conducted inspections at Bangalore railway station. They seized 90 suspicious parcels from a train coming from Rajasthan. When they were opened, they found animal flesh. The meat samples were sent to the food laboratory. Officials said further action will be taken if it is dog meat. Meanwhile, Hindutva activist Puneeth Kerehalli and others staged a protest at the Majestic Railway Station in Bengaluru claiming that mutton and dog meat are being served in Bengaluru hotels. Cases were registered against those who took up the protests and arrested. They were charged with obstructing police officers on duty.
