NOB_Suryapet: In a heartwarming gesture, Suryapet District SP K. Narasimha IPS has proved that humanity still prevails in uniform.

The SP extended financial assistance of Rs. 20,000 to Mamidi Indu, a girl from Anantharam village, Penpahad Mandal, who secured an MBBS seat at Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad.

Indu is the daughter of Mamidi Anjaiah, a disabled person working as a temporary scavenger in a government school, and Prasanna, a daily wage labourer. Despite extreme poverty and physical disability, Indu studied in a government school till 10th class and completed her Intermediate at Govt. Gurukul College, Gowliduda, Hyderabad.

With her parents’ encouragement and sheer hard work, she secured a good rank in NEET and got a seat in Gandhi Medical College.

After her financial struggles were highlighted on social media, SP Narasimha IPS immediately responded and handed over the aid at his office in Suryapet.

Speaking on the occasion, the SP said, “Poverty is never a barrier to achieve a goal. Indu has proved that anything can be achieved with determination and hard work. Despite being disabled, her father educated her to this level, which is truly commendable. I wish she becomes a good doctor and serves the poor.”

The SP also assured full support for her future education.
