NOB_Kamareddy : Kamareddy District Police arrested an inter district gang involved in stealing copper coils from transformers.

The gang has committed 29 thefts in Kamareddy district and 23 in Medak district, totaling 52 transformer thefts, besides an attempt to murder and a night burglary case.

As per the complaint by Assistant Engineer Jadhav Balaji, copper coils were stolen from transformers in Baswapur, Bhiknoor, Gurjakunta, Rameshwarapally, Jangampally, Ryagatlapally and villages under Rajampet PS limits in the last five months. Cases were registered at Bhiknoor and Rajampet Police Stations.

On 09.09.2026, the gang also attempted to murder Assistant Lineman Prabhakar at Rameshwarapally when he tried to stop the theft.

On the directions of SP M. Rajesh Chandra, IPS, four special teams were formed under DSP S. Madhusudan, led by Bhiknoor CI J. Naresh, CCS CI Santhosh Kumar, SIs Anil and Mahesh. Based on CCTV and technical evidence, police arrested three persons near Parivar Hotel, Bhiknoor Mandal on 11.09.2026.

The accused are four real brothers who made theft their profession. Police said they are addicted to online betting and lavish lifestyle, do recce during daytime and commit thefts at night. They had been to jail earlier but continued offending.

Arrested:

1. Baljeer Singh Chatur Singh Tak

2. Roop Singh Chatur Singh Tak

3. Lakan Chatur Singh Tak

4. One accused absconding.

Seized: 1 Yamaha FZ bike, 1 mobile, 9 hacksaw blades, tools and 30 kgs of copper wire.

The arrested were produced before court. Search is on for the absconding accused.
