Hyderabad (NOB): In a trap laid by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), a Town Planning Supervisor of GHMC was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe.

The accused officer Tulasiram Sunitha, Town Planning Supervisor, O/o The GHMC, Golkonda Zone, Circle-33, Mehdipatnam, Hyderabad, was caught by ACB officials of City Range-I.

According to ACB Press Note No. 149, she had demanded a bribe of Rs. 8 lakhs and accepted part payment of Rs. 4 lakhs from the complainant for doing an official favour – to ignore the Speaking Orders issued by the Deputy Commissioner, GHMC, to allow the complainant to proceed with building construction and to not cause any further harassment.

The tainted bribe amount of Rs. 4,00,000/- was recovered from her possession. In addition, an unaccounted cash of Rs. 2,50,000/- was also found and seized.

The AO is being produced before the Hon’ble I Addl. Special Judge for SPE & ACB cases, Nampally for judicial remand. The case is under investigation.
